Francesca, We agree with you wholeheartedly!

Like many fetishes, smell fetish is under-represented in the personals community? Why? I have no idea. A little research has turned up several smell fetish sites which get thousands of hits a month. Surely, as Francesca indicates, there is a need within the smell fetish community for singles and swingers to hook up. Today, with that in mind, we added smell personals to our list of bizarre / fetish categories.

Francesca seemed like such an interesting person from her long email (a portion of which can be seen above) that we asked for a brief interview.

ODD PERSONALS: Thanks for agreeing to an interview Francesca. For our readers not in the know, can you explain smell fetish?

FRANCESCA: Smell fetish is the sexual arousal people feel due to body odors that derive from areas like the feet, genitals, anus and arm pits. Like all fetishes those people with a smell fetish will sometimes be unable to become sexually aroused unless body smells are incorporated into sex. This might involve asking the partner to finger their ass and wipe that finger over their nose, for instance.

ODD PERSONALS: Would you say smell fetish is a fairly uncommon sexual fetish?

FRANCESCA: Not at all. In fact, it might be more prevalent than most people would think. Take foot fetishism as an example. This is the most popular fetish. Now smell fetish actually forms part of this fetish. Foot fetishes get off when sniffing feet. It is also true that most people find the smell of sex to be an arousal. Many people probably have a smell fetish and are blissfully unaware!

ODD PERSONALS: It sounds like smell fetish could be very popular. Do you think the fetish is more popular for men or for women?

FRANCESCA: Pretty even, I would say. I know quite a few people online with a smell fetish. If anything I would say slightly more of them are men but not that many.
